Many people around the world have claimed to have had some kind of paranormal experience. Around half the population of the United States believe in the existence of ghosts and more than a quarter of the population say that they have actually witnessed some kind of paranormal activity.
With so many people convinced by the afterlife, there surly must be some evidence out there to support these claims? Yet, it seems that whenever you see anything in the media about the paranormal it is taken with a pinch of salt to say the least.
Joe Nickell from Buffalo, New York believes that he might have some of the answers…
Joe Nickell says that he is the world’s only science based, “salaried” paranormal researcher. He says that in 50 years he’s never found any evidence that could prove the existence of ghosts.
In fact Joe Nickell is a skeptic when it comes to anything out of the ordinary. Nickell claims to have debunked hundreds of UFO sightings and paranormal activity in his half century as an investigator.
No such thing as ghosts?
So does this mean that Joe Nickell has proven that Ghosts do not exist? No, definitely not.
Although Joe Nickell claims to be a professional paranormal investigator, he has made a great living from being a sceptic. Joe has written many books in his line of work and has earned a lot of money as a result. Whilst the media is often quick to snigger at those that make claims that are “out of the ordinary”. Perhaps Joe has found a profitable niche that the media find much easier to agree with.
There will no doubt always be those people who try to confirm the existence of things that we don’t understand with scientific experiments. But perhaps some things can’t be measured or proven using conventional scientific research. Is Joe Nickell right?
Has Joe seriously found nothing convincing in 50 years? Perhaps Joe himself is part of a cover up, or maybe he’s simply in it for the money? What do you think? Have your say by posting a comment in the section at the bottom of this page.
